The security guard who was alleged to be a hero in the Las Vegas shooting but then vanished has shown up on the set of the Ellen DeGeneris Show. (Video below)

Jesus Campos gave his account of what went down on the TV show that was set to air Oct. 18, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Campos was shot Oct. 1 by shooter Stephen Paddock minutes before the gunman opened fire from his 32nd floor hotel room on people at a country music festival.

Paddock killed 58 people and injured about 500 more.

Campos said on the TV show that he had to use the elevator to get to the 32nd floor because the stairwell door was barricaded. He said he called security dispatch to report the blocked door when he heard drilling sounds.

“As I was walking down, I heard rapid fire.” Campos said. “And at first I took cover. I felt a burning sensation. I went to go lift my pant leg up and I saw the blood. That’s when I called it in on my radio that shots have been fired.”

Campos was struck by a bullet in the upper right thigh. He hid in a doorway and alerted a hotel building engineer and a woman who came out of a nearby room.

There had been a lot of speculation about what happened to Campos after he left a Las Vegas hotel room Oct. 12 where he was preparing for an interview with numerous TV stations. However, Campos left without notice and no interviews took place.

Campos’ union then said that he was missing.

Ellen DeGeneris said that Campos refused compensation for his appearance on her show.

The timeline has been changed numerous times on the shooting. Police originally said Campos was shot six minutes before Paddock began his rampage. They changed that later and said the security guard was shot moments before Paddock fired on the concert fans.
