Pasco County, FL – A robbery suspect slammed into a Pasco County sheriff deputy’s patrol SUV at approximately 70 miles per hour, shoving the deputy’s vehicle off of the roadway and onto the grassy boulevard (video below).

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office released harrowing dashcam footage of the collision on Friday.

The incident began on Thursday in the area of Flora Avenue and U.S. 19, after an unnamed suspect committed a robbery and took off in a vehicle, the department said in a press release.

Pasco County deputies pursued the robber for a short distance, but ultimately “disengaged due to the suspect traveling at over 100 mph,” the agency said.

The driver continued heading northbound on U.S. 19, but “lost control” of the vehicle a moment later.

Dashcam footage showed the suspect vehicle as it slammed into the front of Pasco County Sheriff Deputy Shannon Henrici’s vehicle and sent the patrol SUV into a spin.

Another deputy was traveling behind her, and immediately jumped out of his vehicle to rush to Deputy Henrici’s aid.

He hurtled debris scattered across the sidewalk, and made his way to Deputy Henrici’s open driver’s door.

“You ok?” he asked her frantically, as she rushed away from the SUV.

“Go sit down,” he ordered, just before he took off running after the suspect.

Officers pursued the robber on foot past a carwash and into a fenced-off storage facility, where he was ultimately apprehended.

“Thankfully, Deputy Henrici and the suspect suffered only minor injuries,” the department said. “This crash…highlights the dangers our deputies face every shift.”
