Yellowstone National Park, WY – A man who was caught on video taunting a bison at Yellowstone National Park was arrested by park rangers on July 28.

Oregon man, Raymond Reinke, had a series of run-ins with the law while touring national parks over a series of days that culminated with him getting out of his car and taunting the bison. (Video below)

In the video, Reinke, 55, began to taunt the bison.

The bison has turned in the opposite direction of Reinke at first but as Reinke walked down the middle of the road he apparently called out to it and caught the bison’s attention.

The bison turned around and Reinke started making hand gestures while posing. The bison charged him and Reinke was able to maneuver and get out of its way.

The bison didn’t appear to make contact with him, although the woman who took the video turned the camera away as the bison made a second charge at Reinke.

“Oh, god, oh, god, I can’t watch,” Lindsey Jones said as she filmed the incident.

But taunting the bison was just one of multiple disturbances Reinke was involved in.

Reinke was cited for drunken and disorderly conduct on July 28 at the Grand Teton National Park in Teton County, Wyoming, according to the Associated Press.

He was released on a $500 bond that required him to follow the law and not drink alcohol.

However, three days later Yellowstone National Park rangers cited him for not wearing a seat belt and stated that he appeared intoxicated, according to park officials. The park rangers did not know of his bond condition that stated Reinke couldn’t drink alcohol.

Yellowstone National Park officials warn visitors to stay at least 25 yards away from bison because they regularly injure tourists, according to the AP.

After the video of Reinke taunting the bison went viral, park rangers in Yellowstone National Park found out about Reinke’s charges in Grand Teton. That’s when an assistant U.S. attorney asked that Reinke’s bond be revoked and that he be arrested.

Reinke had told park rangers he was going to Glacier National Park. Park rangers were looking for him there when they got a report of two guest arguing and creating a disturbance at Many Glacier Hotel. Park rangers identified Reinke as one of those guests and arrested him.
