Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released 28 new video clips to the public from officers’ bodycams captured during the mass shooting on Oct. 1, 2017 (video below).

Footage from the bodycams worn by some of the first officers to respond to the shooting showed officers taking cover with concert goers, organizing evacuation routes, and evacuating the wounded.

Fifty-eight people were killed and 851 people were injured when a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 music festival, across from the Mandalay Bay.

One 28-minute bodycam video showed an officer helping terrified people duck beneath a stage, and hitting the pavement with them when a long and rapid burst of gunfire tore through the air over the Las Vegas Strip, ABC News reported.

The video showed that officer carrying a wounded woman to safety, and applying a tourniquet. Then he put her in his patrol car and transported her to the hospital.

Another 30-minute bodycam video showed officers in a hallway, some in prone positions, outside the hotel suite in the Mandalay Bay from which Stephen Paddock was conducting his rampage, FOX News reported. Paddock killed himself before police entered the room.

In another video, the bodycam captured the officers trying to decipher what’s going on as the dispatcher reported calls about active shooters at the Tropicana, and a couple of other locations.

“Calls of active shooters at multiple locations. May or may not be diversions,” the dispatcher said in the video.

On the video, the officers sounded as though they disagreed as to what direction they needed to head.

“What do you want to do?” one asked.

“We do not have concise orders, okay,” one officer said.

“Are you training also?” another officer can be heard asking someone in the patrol vehicle.

“Yeah, this is my first day,” the officer responded.

“Copy that there are reports of two shots fired in the park area of New York New York,” the dispatcher announced, adding yet another Las Vegas Strip hotel to the mix.

The video clips totaled 10 hours of coverage, and police also released 511 new 911 audio clips, FOX News reported.

One of the calls was from a man who was hiding in the broom closet at Planet Hollywood two-and-a-half hours after the shooting first began, wanting to know if it was safe to come out.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, said he expected to release a final investigative report in July. The FBI has planned to release their report prior to the first anniversary of the shooting, FOX News reported.
