Huntington Beach, CA – On Friday a video went viral which shows a Huntington Beach Police Officer fatally shooting a man outside of a 7-11 store. The video didn’t show anything leading up to the ground-fight, but newly released video shows more of what happened before the shooting (video below.) WARNING: Video is very graphic.

The new video shows that the suspect pursued the officer as he attempted to retreat, and then aggressively attacked him.

The incident happened at around 9:30 AM Friday morning when an officer made contact with a man at the 7-Eleven at 6012 Edinger Ave, according to LA Times.

In the initially released videos, the suspect and officer ended up in a ground-fight, the tail-end of which was captured on video by @Cali_Funk1. The shooting was captured in two parts, one which showed the ground fight and suspect grabbing an item from the officer’s belt, and a second video which showed the shooting.

It appears that @Cali_Funk1 then removed the first video that showed what led up to the fight. His reasoning for removing the first video may be a move to edit the video to make the shooting appear to be unjustified, but copies of the original video had already been made.

In the first video, you can see the officer on top of the suspect and the officer appears to be trying to get control of the suspect’s left arm.

The suspect then uses his right hand to grab something off of the officer’s belt.

The officer then glances down and sees the suspect holding the object. The officer then jumps off the suspect, creates space, and opens fire. The suspect was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The newly released video shows the officer retreating from the suspect while trying to tase him to stop his advance. The Taser was ineffective and the suspect lunged forward, hitting the officer and disarmed his Taser from him, which fell to the ground.

The officer was able to take the assailant down to the ground as the suspect grabbed at the officer’s gun belt.

On the ground, the suspect removed an item from the officer’s belt and the suspect was shot.

The item removed from the officer’s belt has still not been identified.

You can see the new video below along with the two original videos showing the other angles. WARNING: Extremely graphic content.
