Las Vegas, NV – Newly released bodycam video from a Las Vegas Metro Police Officer shows the chaos during Sunday’s mass shooting, and shows the officers running toward the danger.

In the video, officers can be seen trying to figure out the shooter’s location, while trying to take cover from gunfire, and moving people to safety.

Many sirens, screams, and gunfire can be heard in the graphic video.  People can be heard yelling, “They’re shooting right at us”, while officers yell above the noise to tell them which direction to flee.

The bodycam video is from the mass shooting at a Harvest 91 Music Festival concert Sunday night, when Steven Paddock murdered 59 people and injured 567 people, while shooting at a crowd of 22,000 people from his Mandalay Bay Resort suite.

On Tuesday, police said that Paddock had set up cameras inside and outside of his hotel room, apparently to warn him if police were near.  One camera was found on a nearby service cart.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said, “I anticipate he was looking for anybody coming to take him into custody.”  He said that the FBI had collected all digital evidence for further analysis.

It was a scene of utter chaos, and fear, as countless photos and video have shown people fleeing, trying to flee, bodies lying on the ground, and even Aldean himself running toward the back of the stage as it became apparent that it was gunfire and not fireworks.

Some hid, some ran, and some stayed to help those who were hurt or help others to safety, according to ABC News.

Sheriff Clark said that the gunfire lasted between nine and 11 minutes, with the first 911 call about 10:08 PM, and the last 911 call about 10:19 PM.

Paddock’s body was found inside his hotel room after officers breached the door. He apparently shot and killed himself as officers breached the door.

The motive for the mass shooting remains unknown.  Sheriff Lombardo said on Tuesday that he “…couldn’t get into the mind of a psychopath.”
