Jersey City, NJ – A cell phone video showed how a trio of female Jersey City officers handled a violent suspect who had latched onto the hair of one of the officers (video below).

The video showed the woman pulling the officer’s hair was taken to the ground by police during the ensuing struggle.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, while Jersey City police were trying to disperse a large crowd that had gathered at a car crash scene on Armstrong Avenue, NJ.com reported.

One member of the crowd, 35-year-old Kimberly Sanders, began arguing with one of the officers, Jersey City Police Spokesperson Ashley Manz told the news outlet.

At some point during the encounter, Sanders grabbed onto the female officer’s hair and refused to let go.

The altercation was already underway when a bystander began recording the scene.

An angry mob quickly raced towards the fight, yelling and heckling the officers throughout the video.

Two additional female officers immediately jumped into the melee, and delivered multiple body strikes in an attempt to free their fellow officer, the video showed.

They eventually took Sanders to the ground, but she continued to fight.

One officer deployed her expandable baton, and delivered multiple strikes to the lower portion of Sanders’ leg.

The angry crowd immediately grew louder, and several people called out the officers for striking Sanders.

“Yo! What you doing, yo?” one man yelled at them.

“You ain’t gotta hit her like that!” a woman’s voice chimed in.

Additional officers arrived on the scene, and Sanders was taken into custody.

She has been charged with failure to disperse, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a peace officer, obstruction of a governmental function, and bail jumping, Manz told NJ.com.
