Bell Gardens, CA – Cell phone footage captured the terrifying moment when a suspect intentionally rammed a Los Angeles County deputy’s patrol vehicle multiple times early Thursday morning, leading to an officer-involved shooting (video below).

The incident occurred near Eastern Avenue and Florence Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 22, CBS News reported.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) said a deputy was traveling down Florence Avenue when he spotted a white SUV speeding around the area and doing donuts in the intersection, according to KABC.

When the deputy attempted to get the driver to pull over, the suspect suddenly rammed the rear driver’s side of his patrol vehicle, cell phone footage showed.

The suspect proceeded to throw the vehicle into reverse, then turned towards the driver’s door and rammed the patrol unit yet again.

It wasn’t until the third time the suspect crashed into the patrol vehicle that the deputy fired into the windshield of the white SUV, the video showed.

But the violent suspect was undeterred.

He again reversed and then accelerated rapidly – screeching his tires in the process – and slammed into the patrol vehicle hard enough to shove it up onto the sidewalk and into a traffic police, the video showed.

The deputy fired approximately 14 more rounds at the suspect at that point.

The suspect ultimately reversed, but this time continued to travel backwards slowly in a large circle until the white SUV came to rest near the patrol vehicle.

The deputy fired off several more rounds shortly before the clip ended.

The unidentified suspect suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken into custody at the scene, KABC reported.

He was then transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The deputy was also transported to the hospital due to unspecified injuries, KABC reported.

He has also been listed in stable condition.

The motive for the attack is unknown.
