Washington, D.C. – 164 “Kava nope” protesters were arrested Saturday during the vote for Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination.
Protesters were ordered off of the Capitol steps, and those who stayed were arrested.
The protesters, who were largely peaceful, were handcuffed and led away one at a time.
There was at least one protester trying to convince others to come back with weapons and kill the police officers.
Benny Johnson of the Daily Caller tweeted video of a pair of obnoxious protesters haggling a stoic police officer, and the video has since gone viral.
The protests prompted President Donald Trump to criticize the protesters during a rally in Topeka, Kansas later in the day.
“In their quest for power, the radical Democrats have turned into an angry mob. You saw that today with the screaming and the shouting,” President Trump said.
Despite the protests, Kavanaugh was still appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
