Las Vegas, NV – Police raided the home of a man who has claimed to have been in the backseat of the Cadillac that carried the killer of Tupac Shakur (video below).

He is believed to be the last surviving witness of the beloved rapper’s unsolved murder, the Associated Press reported.

The warrant served by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) on the home of Duane “Keffe D” Davis on July 19 said officers were searching for items “concerning the murder” of Shakur on Sept. 7, 1996, while his vehicle was waiting at a red light on the Las Vegas strip.

Shakur was riding in a BMW driven by Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight when he was killed, the Associated Press reported.

Witnesses reported that the night he was killed, a white Cadillac pulled up next to the BMW and opened fire on Shakur.

The 25-year-old rapper died of his wounds a week later, the Associated Press reported.

Davis, in a recently-published memoir, admitted to having been in the Cadillac when Shakur was shot.

He claimed in his book that he “tossed” the gun used to shoot Shakur into the backseat, implicating his nephew, Orlando Anderson, who was one of two people sitting back there, the Associated Press reported.

The fatal shooting occurred after a casino brawl earlier that night that involved Shakur, Anderson, and others.

Anderson denied any role in Shakur’s murder at the time, the Associated Press reported.

He died two years later in a shooting in the Compton area of Los Angeles.

Davis described himself in his book as the only living witness to Shakur’s murder, sparking the current investigation.

Police sources have said that bullets recovered inside Davis’s home during the search did not match the shell casings from the weapon used to murder Shakur, the Associated Press reported.

However, investigators have recovered data dating back to the murder that will be investigated.

Authorities released bodycam video from the officers who conducted the search of Davis’s home that shows numerous materials being removed from the house.

Knight, who survived the attack on his BMW, is serving time in a California prison for running a man over and killing him with his pickup truck in 2015, the Associated Press reported.
