Vancouver, WA – A pickup truck that sported two stickers supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection was vandalized and set on fire in a bar parking lot early Sunday morning.

“I literally just put them on this weekend,” the truck’s owner, Johnny MacKay, told KOIN. “If I would’ve known somebody would’ve taken politics this far — I saw them, I thought they were funny and apparently somebody didn’t get the joke.”

MacKay, who drove the now-destroyed four-door pickup truck as an Uber, said he had left his truck in the parking lot at the Garage Bar and Grille on Saturday night because he’d had a few drinks.

He said he didn’t want to drive, so he left his truck parked under a light in the bar’s lot, and called an Uber.

When MacKay returned to pick up his vehicle on Sunday morning, it had been burned and vandalized with spray paint.

“All of a sudden I saw the tires were melted, the windows were shattered, and I was just in shock,” MacKay said.

The burned-out shell carried a spray-painted message against President Trump, KOIN reported.

Randy Sanchagrin, who lives across the street from Garage Bar and Grille, said the explosion blew him out of bed.

“All of a sudden I hear a loud bomb and the windows shake,” Sanchagrin told KOIN.

He went outside and saw the fireball over the truck, and then told his sister to call 911 while he went to see if there was anybody in the burning vehicle.

“By the time I ran back to the street it was so bad there was no getting close to it,” Sanchagrin said.

MacKay is furious that someone would destroy his source of income, and told KOIN he believed he was deliberately targeted because of the two Trump 2020 stickers on the truck’s back bumper.

“If you say anything that someone doesn’t like you are ultimately a target,” he said. “You’re automatically the enemy and they have to hurt you.”

MacKay said anybody who would set fire to a vehicle because of bumper stickers must suffer from a mental condition and needed help.
