Spokane Valley, WA – Spokane Valley Major Crime detectives are asking for help in locating Daniel Johnson, who is wanted after he recorded himself tying up a woman and shooting her.
The incident started Monday night at around 11:55 PM when a Spokane County deputy saw a Chrysler Sebring with its turn signal on, stopped on Adams just south of Broadway, according to KREM2.
When the deputy drove by the car, the turn signal went off and the car took off at a high rate of speed. The deputy turned on the vehicle to investigate, but lost sight of the vehicle.
The deputy later saw tail lights in an alleyway near the 14600 block of E. Broadway. When he stopped to investigate, he observed that it was the same vehicle that had fled from him.
The deputy ran the vehicle’s information and it wasn’t listed as stolen. Looking inside, the deputy saw a pump action shotgun on the passenger’s seat, and a cell phone with blood by the driver’s door.
The deputies checked the cell phone to try to determine if somebody was injured, and the phone opened up to a video which showed a woman who was tied up and being assaulted.
Investigators were then able to locate a woman at a nearby hospital with injuries from being beaten and shot. She is expected to survive.
The suspect has been identified as Daniel Johnson, and he is now wanted for assault 1st degree DV and unlawful imprisonment.
Johnson was described as a white male, 6’2″, medium build, short red hair, and blue eyes. He has a history of being armed.
Anybody who sees Johnson is urged to call 911 immediately. Please help spread the word so that this scumbag has nowhere to hide.
