Missouri State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal is being criticized again after she posted a meme attacking President Trump.

The meme shows President Donald Trump taking off his shirt in a series of four pictures – by the time the shirt is removed the last image is of Adolf Hitler.

The tweet is a knock off of a controversial Dove soap commercial that was criticized for having a black woman take off her shirt and seemingly turn into a white woman.

Chappelle-Nadal told The Associated Press that she shared the meme because she was upset by Trump’s tweets suggesting Puerto Rico must take on more responsibility for its recovery from Hurricane Maria, Fox News reported.

Chappelle-Nadal’s mother is from Puerto Rico and claims to still have family members in Puerto Rico.

“So this is very personal to me,” she said.

“I still have a First Amendment right, and I still have a family I need to fight for,” Chappelle-Nadal told the AP.

In an August Facebook post, Chappelle-Nadal said that she hoped President Trump would be assassinated.

For that post, she was censured by the senate chamber in what is the equivalence of a reprimand. It was the first censure in Missouri state senate history.

Chappelle-Nadal has also fueled a conspiracy theory that police were killing off Ferguson protesters.

Edward Crawford was captured in a photograph throwing a tear gas canister at police during the Ferguson protests. Crawford died this past May from a self-inflicted gunshot while his friends were next to him in a car.

Chappelle-Nadal wrote on Twitter that “Ferguson’s hero” was “shot to death,” but never mentioned it was believed to be self-inflicted.

She then re-tweeted tweets which promoted the idea that it was a conspiracy.
