Los Angeles, CA – A nightclub security guard was beaten to death by a violent mob outside his popular Hollywood workplace early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred outside the Dragonfly Hollywood nightclub located in the 6500-block of Santa Monica Boulevard near Wilcox Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. on July 30, KTLA reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said officers responded to the scene after receiving reports that a man was being attacked by a group of about 10 people.
Police arrived to find a severely-injured man in his 30s lying in the street, according to KTLA.
He was not breathing, KTTV reported.
First responders immediately rendered aid and attempted lifesaving measures.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to KTTV.
Investigators said the murdered man was working as a security guard at the nightclub, which was hosting Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley that night, KTLA reported.
“The victim was working at this nightclub, and a large group – for unknown reasons – confronted that security guard, causing him to fall into the street,” LAPD West Bureau Homicide Division Detective Samuel Marullo told the news outlet.
Det. Marullo said the group then “advanced and kicked and stomped him to death.”

Police did not release the victim’s name, but friends and coworkers identified him as 32-year-old Daniel Sandifer, KTLA reported.
Sandifer was a father of two daughters, according to KABC.
Details regarding what led up to the vicious assault are unknown, FOX News reported.

It is also unclear whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the security guard’s murder.
Police said the suspects who stomped the victim to death were in their 20s, KTTV reported.
They allegedly fled down Santa Monica Boulevard and were last seen heading southbound on Hudson Avenue, according to police.
Investigators urged anyone with information about the incident to contact police immediately.
