Police Say 14-Year-Old Robbed 11 Victims At Gunpoint In 45 Minutes

Chicago, IL – A 14-year-old boy managed to rob 11 people in just 45 minutes during a brazen crime spree in Chicago last week, according to police.

Investigators said the suspect held victims at gunpoint in seven separate predawn incidents on July 25, WGN reported.

The first incident occurred in the 1100-block of West Taylor Street at approximately 1:50 a.m., according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Investigators said the teen held up a 29-year-old man at that location.

He then allegedly headed over to the 1100-block of South Canal Street and robbed a 45-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The 14-year-old struck again in the 700-block of West Taylor Street, where he allegedly robbed a 24-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman just minutes later, according to police.

Investigators said the same suspect robbed a 28-year-old woman in the 2400-block of South Canal Street at 2:20 a.m., WGN reported.

Another robbery occurred four minutes later in the 2500-boock of South Halsted, where a 44-year-old man was targeted.

The teen allegedly held up a 39-year-old man and a 41-year-old man in the 1100-block of West Chicago at 2:30 a.m., then robbed a 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old man in the 1200-block of North Milwaukee five minutes later, WGN reported.

No one was injured during any of the armed heists, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Chicago police said they tracked the suspect down and arrested him in the 2400-block of West Belmont Avenue several hours after the robbery spree, WLS reported.

Details regarding how investigators honed in on him as the being the alleged perpetrator were not released.

The teen has been charged with 12 felony counts of armed robbery, as well as additional misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal trespass to a vehicle.
