Largo, FL – The mother of a 2-year-old boy who told police her son had been kidnapped by a stranger has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge for the brutal death of her child.

According to an arrest affidavit, Charisse Stinson, 21, confessed that she struck her toddler, 2-year-old Jordan Belliveau, in the face with such force that his head slammed into a wall and caused him to have seizures, which continued throughout the night, WTTG reported.

She called it a “moment of frustration,” WFTS reported.

“After the blow to the head, the victim suffered seizures during the night, which lead to further decline [in his health], resulting in his death,” the affidavit read.

Stinson never sought help for her suffering child, and carried his ailing body into a wooded area near the Largo Sport Complex, according to WTTG.

It was unclear whether Jordan died before or after his mother abandoned him in the woods.

Investigators recovered the little boy’s body on Tuesday evening. His beaten body bore injuries consistent with details Stinson provided in her confession, WFTS reported.

Stinson originally told police that she and Jordan were walking on East Bay Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, when a stranger named “Antwan” pulled up in a white Toyota Camry and offered them a ride, WKMG reported.

Stinson told investigators that she accepted his offer because Jordan was heavy and she didn’t want to carry him for the rest of their walk, according to WFTS.

She claimed that “an altercation took place” inside the vehicle, and that Anwan struck her in the face repeatedly, knocking her unconscious.

Stinson told investigators that she woke up in a wooded area in Largo Central Park at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, and that Jordan was nowhere to be found.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued for Jordan the same day.

Stinson described her attacker as a 25-year-old black male with dreadlocks and gold teeth, and even told police he was wearing black basketball shorts with an “AMD1” logo and a white tank top.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the nonexistent suspect based on her description, WFTS reported.

On Monday, police collected bloody children’s items found inside Stinson’s apartment, as well as some children’s clothing that had been rolled up inside a rug and placed outside of the residence.

Investigators said they did not know if the items were connected to Jordan’s disappearance.

Stinson was ultimately arrested at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to court documents, Stinson and Jordan’s father had a history of domestic altercations, WFTS reported.

In July, the child’s father was arrested for punching Stinson in the face, after he drove Jordan to her home for a custody exchange, and she told him she “did not want the child yet,” court documents read.

Stinson was arrested on domestic violence charges on two occasions in 2017, and child protective services had also visited her during a child abuse investigation, WTTG reported.

The outcome of the child abuse investigation was unclear.

On Tuesday, Jordan’s paternal uncle, Stephon Davis, said the family suspected Stinson’s involvement from the moment they learned the little boy was missing.

“We honestly knew it was her because of her past with us,” Davis told WTVT.

When asked about reports that Stinson might be pregnant again, Davis said he “can’t speak on that” because he had “heard too many stories.”

Stinson has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse, and is expected to make her initial appearance in court on Wednesday afternoon, WFTS reported.
