Washington, DC – Three businesses in the nation’s capital were firebombed with Molotov cocktails and other explosives in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The first explosion was detonated at about 4:30 a.m. on June 2 outside the Truist bank located in the 2300-block of Washington Place, NE, the Daily Mail reported.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a gold/champagne color Acura TL with a Maryland license plate 17971CK that was captured on surveillance videos.

Moments later, at about 4:36 a.m., another bomb was detonated on the sidewalk in front of the Nike store located in the 700-block of H Street, NE, WUSA reported.

The suspect also drove away from the second crime scene in the same vehicle, according to police.

Officials said the third incident occurred when a suspect hurled a Molotov cocktail at the Safeway grocery store located in the 300-block of 40th Street, WUSA reported.

Once again, the suspect fled the scene in the same Acura.

The explosives shattered windows and caused serious damage to all of the buildings, but since none of the businesses were open at the times of the attacks, no one was injured in the blasts, WUSA reported.

Police believe the bomber was targeting the specific businesses rather than people.

Authorities have not released a lookout for a suspect, nor have they made any arrests in connection with the firebombings, WUSA reported.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering up to a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the bomber, WUSA reported.
