Trenton, NJ – 22 people were injured, including a child, after gunmen opened fire at the 24-hour Art All Night Trenton 2018 Sunday morning, according to WPVI.
Gunfire broke out at around 2:45 a.m. at the Roebling Wire Works Building on the 600 block of South Clinton Avenue, according to WPVI.
“Multiple” people at the event opened fire, shooting 17 people.
One gunman is dead, and Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri announced that they believe that a police officer took him out.
A second gunman is in custody.
A 13-year-old boy and three other people are in critical condition.
Irving Higginbotham told WPVI that he was shot 4 times.
“Everybody was having a nice time. The next thing you know, there were gunshots, got shot in the leg, fell on the ground, and that was it,” he told WPVI.
Approximately 1,000 people were in the area at the time of the shooting.
It’s not clear at this time if the shooters intended to hit other people, or if a gunfight broke out in the crowded area.
The festival was scheduled to run from 3 p.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday, but the remainder of the event has now been canceled.
