Opelika, AL – A man whose mugshot went viral last week when he was arrested in Florida and was dubbed “Neck Guy” was arrested again, this time in Alabama.

Charles McDowell, 31, whose thick neck made him an internet sensation, was arrested in Alabama for trying to flee from police, according to WPMI.

McDowell was booked in the Lee County Detention Center on Wednesday and was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, reckless driving, driving with license revoked and improper lane usage, according to WPMI.

His bond was set at $5,400 and he was bonded out of jail.

McDowell was arrested on Tuesday in Florida and charges of fleeing and eluding police, possession of meth, cocaine and other drug charges, according to Fox News.

But it was his thick neck that drew the attention of people on the internet.

When the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office posted his mugshot on its Facebook page on Nov. 13, the post was shared 265,571 times and generated 299,000 comments.

Some of the comments on the sheriff’s page:

“Dude puts his turtle neck sweaters on upside down”, “I hope they notified his Necks of kin,” “He can’t button the top 3 buttons,” “He’ll be out of jail neck week,” “What they charge this guy with? Neckless Endangerment?”

“Keeps ending up in the wrong neck of the woods,” former WWE champ Sean “X-Pac” Waltman posted on Twitter, according to the New York Post.

Another commenter wrote, “He’s gotta be up to his neck in legal fees.”

After he was let out of jail in Florida after posting a $57,000 bond, McDowell made his way to Alabama where he ran from police officers and refused to stop. Police eventually had to spike his tires, according to the New York Post.

“Y’all leave that man alone,” one person wrote on Facebook. “Necks time it could be you.”
