Cleveland, OH – The body of a Cleveland woman who went missing nearly one year ago was found late last month stuffed inside a storage tote that had been dumped behind an abandoned home.

Tyresha Little, 41, was last seen alive on Aug. 30, 2022, WOIO reported.

Chicago police said they have spent the past 11 months looking for leads into the mother-of-eight’s disappearance.

The case broke wide open on July 20, when investigators went to an abandoned house in the 3700-block of East 129th Street after receiving a tip, WOIO reported.

When they arrived, they discovered Little’s remains inside a plastic storage container behind the vacant residence.

The container was sitting near a pile of garbage, WOIO reported.

Investigators have not released any information regarding the tip they received, nor have they disclosed how Little died or how long her body was hidden behind the house.

Little’s mother, Wanda Little, acknowledged her daughter struggled with addiction in the past, WOIO reported.

“My daughter she was a very, very loving heart. She would give you the shirt off of her back,” Wanda said. “She did have a drug background, but she had been clean for two years.”

Little’s eldest daughter, Tajainea Little, said she believes police blew off her mother’s disappearance because of her history with drug abuse.

“The very first thing they told me is she’s probably just off somewhere getting high, on a binge, and kept asking was it normal. I kept repeating no, no,” Tajainea claimed during an interview with WOIO.

The detective handling the case said he has been and will continue to investigate the circumstances of Little’s disappearance and death, and said the case is of particular importance to him, according to the news outlet.

An unidentified woman also used Little’s bank card to withdraw money from her account back in November of last year, investigators told WJW.

Police said it could take six to eight weeks before the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will know Little’s cause and manner of death, WJW reported.
