San Diego, CA – Police are investigating a shooting Sunday involving the United States Border Patrol in which the suspect hit an agent on an ATV with a rock and then fled in the agent’s ATV.
Border Patrol agents tried to stop the 19-year-old man at about 2:30 a.m. and a fight broke out, according to KSWB-TV. The Border Patrol agent was hit by the rock with enough force that it knocked him off his ATV.
After the suspect then got on the agent’s ATV and fled, two Border Patrol agents opened fire and hit the suspect at least once. The suspect crashed the ATV into a fence a short while later, KSWB reported.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSWB. No Border Patrol agents were injured.
