Memphis, TN – A man was arrested July 18 for trying to punch a Memphis Police officer after causing a disturbance in a popular restaurant.
Joseph Pszczola was yelling at Blues City Café at about 10:30 p.m. when the employees flagged down a police officer for help, according to WREG-TV.
The police arrived and asked Pszczola to leave, but he refused.
The officer then escorted Pszczola out of the restaurant and into the parking lot. A police officer said that Pszczola’s words were slurred and he could smell alcohol on the suspect’s breath, according to WHBQ-TV.
Pszczola continued to scream once outside and pushed an officer and then tried to punch him. Instead, the officer punched Pszczola on the right side of his face, sending the suspect to the ground.
The officer and the suspect were transported to the hospital.
Pszczola was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and misdemeanor assault, according to WHBQ.
