South Franklin Township, PA – A Pennsylvania man was arrested for threatening to shoot polling place workers on Tuesday.

Christopher Queen, 48, is accused of going to the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department social hall to vote, according to KDKA.

Queen arrived at 8 a.m. and told workers he had been promised a gun and money if he voted “straight party,” according to WPXI.

However, he was not registered to vote at that polling precinct.

Queen became angry and said he was going to get a gun and “shoot up” the polling place and then he quickly left. The threat was heard by many poll workers, according to CNN.

The poll workers became frightened after hearing the threat and it became a public inconvenience and annoyance and alarm, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report.

Queen was later found and taken into custody. He faces charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, according to KDKA.

Queen was arraigned on Tuesday and told the judge he does not own a firearm and is not a danger to the public, according to WPXI. Queen remained in jail when he was unable to post his $10,000 bail, according to CNN.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that Queen was was registered as a Republican, but it’s unclear which party be believed would compensate him for voting.

Poll workers knew who Queen was because he grew up in that area and there were family members that still live in the area, according to CNN.

Queen has been in trouble with the law in the past. He has been charged in the past with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to CNN.

Pennsylvania State Trooper Robert Broadwater said that police think that Queen has some mental health issues, according to CNN. It wasn’t known whether Queen was assigned an attorney as of Tuesday night.
