Clearwater, FL – A man who was on his way to jail on a drug charge was caught smuggling three syringes into jail in his rectum. Once the contraband was discovered, he claimed that they didn’t belong to him.

Wesley Scott, 40, had a warrant out for his arrest on drug charges from a September 2018 drug bust. Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies located and arrested him Jan. 4 at 4:30 a.m., according to WTVT.

Before Scott was brought to the jail, deputies asked Scott if he had anything on him or if he knew the consequences for trying to bring things into the jail, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Scott told deputies he was aware of it.

When Scott was stripped search he pulled out three syringes from his rectum and handed it to the deputies. Scott then told deputies that they weren’t his, according to WTVT.

Authorities charged Scott with introducing contraband in a county detention facility. He is being held in jail on $5,000 bail, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Scott has also been arrested multiple times on drug and battery charges.

Scott’s smuggling drugs in his rectum was not the only case to make the news.

The Spokesman Review reported Jan. 6 that police said Jordan Tebow smuggled some kind of opioid either in his mouth or in his rectum to get through the booking process in the state of Washington.

The Citrus County Chronicle reported that Roberto Ingles, 29, was arrested during a traffic stop on Jan. 7. Ingles told deputies that he didn’t have any contraband on his body and police took him to the county jail for processing. During a strip search, authorities found two plastic baggies inside Ingle’s rectum. Ingles had additional charges filed against him for trafficking, according to the Citrus County Chronicle.
