New Orleans, LA – A man accused of threatening to blow up a restaurant told police he was just making a reference to using the restroom.

Arthur Posey, 30, faces charges in connection to a bomb threat made at Willie’s Chicken Shack when police didn’t buy his story that he was talking about a bowel movement, according to the arrest warrant.

He was charged with two counts of communicating of false information of planned arson, according to The Times-Picayune.

Police were called the restaurant and told about a bomb threat, according to The Times-Picayune. A police officer questioned Posey at a nearby restaurant that Posey had entered.

Posey told police he told an employee at Willie’s Chicken Shack that he was going to “blow the bathroom up,” in reference to a bowel movement.

However, the Willie’s Chicken Shack employee told police that Posey never said anything about using the restroom, according to The Times-Picayune.

The arrest warrant stated the restaurant’s manager said that Posey came in and approached the food preparation area and asked what time the restaurant closed, according to The Times-Picayune.

The employee told Posey that she didn’t know what time the restaurant closed.

Posey responded by saying, “Y’all about to close right now because I’m going to get a bomb and blow this place up,” according to The Times-Picayune.

Another Willie’s Chicken Shack employee told police that she heard Posey say he was going to get a bomb and put it under the middle table of the restaurant closest to the front door.

The restaurant reported the bomb threat at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The restaurant manager said she took the bomb threat very seriously.

Orleans Parish Magistrate Judge Harry Cantrell appointed a public defender to represent Posey and also scheduled a mental competency hearing for Posey on Nov. 29.
