Dallas, TX – A suspected drunk driver killed a Dallas police officer Saturday morning during a funeral procession for another officer.

The unidentified motorcycle officer was serving as an escort for an officer who died of cancer and was headed to Shreveport, Louisiana to be buried, according to KDFW. That

The officer blocked the I-20 entrance ramp at Bonnie View Road at around 6 a.m. when an SUV crashed into him.

The motorcycle officer was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the SUV was given field sobriety tests, and was taken into custody. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
