Seguin, TX – Seguin Police Department stopped an armed felon wearing tactical clothing and a surgical face shield on Sunday, who claimed that he was going to church to fulfill a prophecy.
According to Officer Tanya Brown, the incident happened just before 7:00 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun in the 2400 block of W. Kingsbury St.
An off-duty officer was the first on scene, and saw the man wearing “tactical style clothing,” a surgical face shield, and carrying a loaded handgun with extra ammunition.
Additional officers arrived and identified the suspect as 33-year-old Tony Albert.
Albert, a convicted felon, said he was going to church to fulfill a prophecy. He did not identify which church he was en route to or give further details on the “prophecy.”
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Guadalupe County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.
The department says that if the suspect hadn’t been apprehended, the results could have been very different.
