New York, NY – Late Night comedian Seth Meyers was accosted by thousands of social media users after he mocked victims who have been murdered by illegal immigrants in a tweet on Tuesday night.

Meyers’ tweet was made on the heels of President Donald Trump’s Oval Office Address, during which he mentioned the brutal murder of Newman Police Department Corporal Ronil Singh.

“America’s heart broke the day after Christmas when a young police officer in California was savagely murdered in cold blood by an illegal alien who just came across the border,” President Trump said. “The life of an American hero was stolen by someone who had no right to be in our country.”

President Trump also reminded the public about a litany of other cases where Americans were killed by illegal aliens.

“In California, an air force veteran was raped, murdered and beaten to death with a hammer by an illegal alien with a long criminal history,” he said.

“In Georgia, an illegal alien was recently charged with murder for killing, beheading and dismembering his neighbor,” the President continued. “In Maryland, MS-13 gang members who arrived in the United States as unaccompanied minors, were arrested and charged last year after viciously stabbing and beating a 16-year-old girl.”

President Trump said he has “met with dozens of families whose loved ones were stolen by illegal immigration” over the past several years, and asked citizens to try to understand the trauma and loss felt by the families of the victims.

“Is this Oval Office: SVU?” Late Night with Seth Meyers tweeted after the President’s speech.

Thousands of responses soon followed – an overwhelming majority of which slammed the comedian for mocking murder victims and their families.

“I’m sure that’s hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed,” former NBC host Megyn Kelly tweeted.

Another user posted a photo of Newman Police Chief Randy Richardson presenting an American flag to Cpl. Singh’s widow at his funeral.

“So much humor in this,” the tweet read.

A photo of Officer Singh and his family – taken just hours before his murder – was also on display in the comments thread.

“You will probably have the great fortune of spending next Christmas with your wife, your children and your loved ones,” the post read. “Officer Singh and his loved ones will never enjoy that experience, again. Some things are off limits, Seth — this is one.”

One post included the names and photos of other citizens who have been killed by illegal aliens.

Some attacked Meyers’ television ratings, and many suggested that they might fall further in light of his offensive post.

Another person suggested that Meyers try speaking with the families of those who have been killed.

Meyers’ show and his personal representative did not respond to a request for comment, FOX News reported.
