Dinwiddie, VA – Virginia State Police are in pursuit of an armored personnel carrier that was stolen from Ft. Pickett in Nottoway County, according to NBC12.

Bystanders have captured video of the pursuit and uploaded it to social media (video below.)

The vehicle is being referred to as a “tank,” but while it is an armored vehicle with tracks, it is not equipped with weapons.

The videos show that law enforcement appears to have a vehicle running in front of the tank in order to warn people away.

The vehicle has the potential to cause devastating damage to anything it tries to run into or over.

The thief has not been identified at this time.

UPDATE: RTD News reporter Ned Oliver reports that the suspect stopped the vehicle, got out, and officers launched a fur missile to take him down. The suspect is now in custody after a 60 mile pursuit.
