New York City – A total of nine people have been injured after a man drove a rental box truck into multiple cars in Manhattan Sunday afternoon.

The suspect then tried to steal a fire truck, attacking a firefighter in the process. Video was captured of him attempting to steal the fire truck (video below.)

The incident occurred at around 12:30 PM at 10th Avenue and West 43rd Street, according to NBC New York.

A man driving an Enterprise box truck drove the truck into multiple vehicles, injuring eight people.

Four of those victims are in serious condition NBC reports.

After crashing into the other vehicles, the man attacked a firefighter and tried to steal a fire truck.

The firefighters were able to stop him and officers arrived on scene and took the man into custody.

No information has been released at this time about what charges the suspect will be facing.

All of the victims were treated at St. Lukes and Bellevue Hospitals.
