Raleigh, NC – A Raleigh police officer was shot in the face Wednesday night and a suspect is still on the run.

The shooting happened on Teakwood Place near Deboy Street at around 8 p.m. according to WRAL.

A backup officer transported the wounded officer to WakeMed in their patrol car.

One suspect has been taken into custody, but a second suspect is still on the run.

A massive manhunt is in progress for the second suspect.

The condition of the officer has not been released.
