Blooming Grove Township, PA – The widow of fallen hero Pennsylvania State Cpl. Bryon K. Dickson II has filed a lawsuit against the parents of cop-killer Eric Frein.

Tiffany Dickson filed the survival and wrongful death lawsuit against Eugene M. and Deborah Frein on Thursday, September 21, according to the Pocono Record.

The lawsuit alleged that both parents were aware of and encouraged their son’s dislike of police officers, which ultimately led to Cpl. Dickson’s death.

It also said that the Freins “psychologically manipulated their son into developing a strong dislike for the police and acting on that dislike’.”

Frein’s ambush assassination attack on the Pennsylvania State Police barracks occurred, on September 12, 2014 during a crew change.

Frein, age 34, shot and killed Cpl. Dickson and seriously wounded Trooper Alex Douglass. He then spent 48 days evading capture before being located outside of an abandoned airport hangar.

He was convicted of first-degree murder and other charges on April 19, and was later sentenced to death.

His attack appears to have been motivated by his anti-government views and the belief that the police were too militarized.

The lawsuit said that Frein’s parents supported him financially, and knew that he was storing weapons, ammunition, and other supplies that were used in the ambush attack, and later in his flight to evade police that ended after a massive manhunt of 48 days.

It also said that Eugene Frein passed on firearm and demolition explosives skills that he had learned while serving in the Army and his political views on firearms, police, and the government.

Eugene and Deborah Frein are also accused of leaving the 48 firearms in their home readily accessible to their son, and of allowing this with knowledge that their son was mentally ill.

Eric Frein also had a history of “acting in a strange and threatening manner”, according to the lawsuit.

Similar lawsuits have also been filed by Trooper Douglass and Nicole Palmer, a civilian dispatcher who tried to help Cpl. Dickson after he was shot.  All of the lawsuits have been filed in the jurisdiction that each lives in.
