Baytown, TX – The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for Baytown Police Officer John Stewart Beasley who has been missing since Thursday.

Officer Beasley, 46, was last seen at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 when he left his home in the Cove area, KTRK reported.

Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne has asked for the public’s help in locating the missing police officer, who is believed to have walked away from his residence in the 1800-block of Parker Place Drive in the Plantation Subdivision, according to a post on the sheriff department’s officer Facebook page.

The search began on Thursday evening after Officer Beasley’s family reported his disappearance, Sheriff Hawthorne said.

Deputies from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, Baytown police officers, dog teams from Alpha Team Search and Rescue from League City, and Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s K9 team have all been working together to locate the missing officer, the sheriff said.

Additional resources were being called in to assist in the search and investigation.

Sheriff Hawthorne said there were no indications of foul play surrounding Officer Beasley’s disappearance, but that investigators were looking into all possible leads and scenarios, the department wrote on its Facebook page.

Officer Beasley is described as a white male, five feet nine inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds with a muscular build. He has green eyes and buzz cut blonde hair.

The officer was last believed to have been wearing a gray pullover t-shirt, khaki-colored cargo pants, and black hiking-type shoes. He has a teal blue-colored tribal tattoo on his upper right shoulder.

Police are expected to hold a press conference late on Monday morning to discuss the officer’s disappearance in more detail.
