Davis, CA – Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona, 22, was murdered in the line of duty Thursday night.

Officer Corona responded to a report of a three-car collision near 5th and D Streets at around 7 p.m., according to CBS Sacramento.

After arriving on scene, Officer Corona was shot by an unidentified suspect.

No information has been released at this time about what led up to the shooting after Officer Corona’s arrival.

Officer Corona was transported to UC Davis Medical Center where she succumbed to her gunshot wounds.

After the shooting, the gunman fled, and was described as a white male in his 20s, average build in a baseball cap, black jacket, blue or tan jeans, and black tactical boots.

After a massive manhunt, officers surrounded a home in Davis and demanded that the person inside surrender. The standoff is ongoing as of the time of this writing.
