Robinson, TX – A woman was saved from sexual assault by a home invader when her teenage children intervened.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reported that 37-year-old John Wayne Morris was arrested after he unlawfully entered a home in the 100-block of North McLendon Drive at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Morris entered the home through an unlocked door, and went into a bedroom, where he proceeded to jump on the woman he found inside, police said.

The woman told police she was terrified that Morris was going to sexually assault her and hurt her family.

“She said that Morris threatened her by telling her that he had someone watching her children and that they would kill them,” Robinson Police Chief Phillip Prasifka said. “[The woman] stated that she was afraid to fight back because she was afraid that her children would be harmed.”

But her teenage children heard something going on, and her 15-year-old son came into the bedroom where she was being attacked and pulled Morris off of his mother, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

Chief Prasifka said the 15 year old held Morris down while his siblings called police.

When officers arrived, they found two other teenage children waiting for them in the front yard who said their brother was inside fighting a man in their mother’s bedroom, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Morris lives in the nearby community but had no connection to the family, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

Police arrested Morris at the scene and took him to the McLennan County Jail where he was booked on a first-degree felony charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault.
