Deputy Moats was married to Cindy Moats who was an

elementary school teacher in Port Aransas, Texas. They have a teenage son and daughter who both looked up to and loved David dearly. Both children plan on attending college after they graduate from Port Aransas High School.

The Moats family were temporarily displaced and were working

hard to salvage what little was left after Hurricane Harvey ravaged their home. They were working to recover from the catastrophic losses when yet another devastating tragedy struck this family in the sudden loss of their protector and hero, Deputy David Moats.

Deputy Moats served in the Army retiring as a Major. He

dedicated his life to serving and protecting the citizens of this nation and was working for the Nueces County Precinct Four Constable’s Office in Port Aransas, Texas at the time of his untimely passing.

Imagine for a minute how terrible this loss would affect

such a close and strong family that were in the middle of a life altering recovery effort after Hurricane Harvey. I’m sure you too will recognize how much this family needs the support of the entire law enforcement community right now. The Moats family lost a devoted husband, a loving father, and the community has lost a brave and humble hero.

Blue Lives Matter is spearheading this fundraiser to help

bring relief to this family as they struggle with the loss of David while also carrying on the fight to recover their lives post Harvey. Please join us and donate to the Deputy David Moats Fund and let’s surround this family with the support they will undoubtedly need in the coming months and years.
