Colorado Springs, CO – El Paso County Deputy Micah Flick was murdered Monday evening in an incident where three other law enforcement officers were shot.
The incident started at around 4 p.m. during a motor vehicle theft investigation in the area of Galley and N Murray, according to authorities.
During the incident, officers approached a male suspect who struggled with officers and led them on a pursuit when shots were fired. Three El Paso County Deputies and one Colorado Springs PD officer were shot.
Deputy Flick was killed in the shooting. The details on the conditions of the other officers have still not been released.
One of the deputies is in surgery, according to the El Paso County PIO.
The unidentified suspect was fatally shot.
Deputy Flick was killed on the 11 year anniversary of his hire date, and he leaves behind his wife and 7-year-old twins.
The deputy is the third law enforcement officer killed in Colorado in the past 37 days.
Douglas County Deputy Zack Parrish was murdered on Dec. 31 and Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm was murdered Jan. 24
