Crittenden County, AR – Earle Police Department Captain Kenneth Culbreath, 53, died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on a wet roadway, just after he finished his shift.
Investigators said that Capt. Culbreath was traveling in his 1999 Chevy pickup on State Highway 50, at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, when he failed to negotiate a curve, and his truck went off of the roadway, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
The vehicle rolled several times, and came to rest in a field. Capt. Culbreath died of his injuries.
“Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the Earle Police Dept. and to the family of Officer Kenneth Culbreath who lost his life last night in an accident,” the Marked Tree Police Department wrote on their Facebook page. “Officer Culbreath was an Officer at the Earle Police Dept. but has worked in different departments here in our area, including Tyronza and Harrisburg.”
Capt. Culbreath is survived by his son, Bobby, and his daughter, Amanda, as well as his four grandchildren, according to his obituary.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday, KAIT reported.
