Hero Down: Alpharetta Department Of Public Safety Master Police Officer Bradley Rocks Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency

Alpharetta, GA – Alpharetta Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Master Police Officer Bradley Rocks died on July 20 after suffering a medical emergency.

The 52-year-old officer was off-duty when the medical issue struck, the ADPS said in a press release two days later.

Officer Rocks was rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away in the early morning hours with his wife by his side.

His exact cause of death was not immediately released.

Officer Rocks served three years in the U.S. Army prior to joining the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He was hired by the ADPS in 2006, and was initially assigned to the agency’s Uniform Patrol Division.

Officer Rocks was a member of the Motors Unit at the time of his death.

He was also a traffic accident reconstructionist and a sniper for the department’s SWAT team, according to his obituary.

The ADPS said Officer Rocks was “known for his easygoing personality, his infectious smile, his love for his wife and children, and his passion about being a motor officer.”

“We ask everyone to keep his family, friends, and ADPS family in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our friend and brother,” the police department said.

Officer Rocks leaves behind his wife, Janice, as well as his daughter, Victoria, his son, Hunter, and his stepdaughter, Raven, according to his obituary.

He is also survived by his mother, brother, and sister.

Officer Rocks was laid to rest on July 31.
