Woman Shoots 2 Of 4 Intruders Who Broke Into Her Home

Philadelphia, PA – A Pennsylvania woman grabbed her gun and stood her ground against four men who broke into her house in the Germantown neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to investigators.

The intrusion occurred at a residence located in the 4900-block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. on July 16, WPVI reported.

Police said a woman arrived back at her apartment and went inside, where she encountered four men who had broken into her home.

The woman was armed and was able to shoot two of her attackers during an ensuing struggle, WPVI reported.

The other two suspects escaped.

Police responded to the scene and found the would-be victim standing out on the roadway near a suspect who was suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Investigators later identified him as 48-year-old Jermaine Parker, WPVI reported.

Parker was shot in his leg and hand, according to WTXF.

He was transported to Einstein Medical Center after being treated at the scene by medics, WPVI reported.

Meanwhile, police located Parker’s alleged cohort suffering from a gunshot wound to his back on East Seymour Street.

The second suspect, 45-year-old Randy Miller, was transported to Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in critical-but-stable condition.

Miller and Parker have both been charged with burglary and other related offenses in connection with the incident, WPVI reported.

Philadelphia police said they are still searching for the other two suspects who fled the scene.

It is unclear if either of them was hit by the victim’s gunfire.

It is also unknown why the four suspects targeted the woman’s home.

Investigators determined the woman acted in self-defense and said she will not face any criminal charges as a result of the shooting, WTXF reported.

They urged anyone with any information about the incident to contact police immediately.
