Queens, NY – New York Police Department (NYPD) officers are looking for a suspect who stabbed two men during the robbery of a deli in Queens on Saturday (video below).
The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the MSK Deli located on 164th Street near 85th Avenue in Jamaica Hills, WPIX reported.
Surveillance video showed the suspect walked into the MSK Deli and stood at the coffee counter as another customer filled up his cup.
Then the video showed that he turned away from the other customers and pulled his mask up over his face.
All of a sudden, the suspect pulled a knife out of his pocket and went after the other customer.
Police said he stabbed the 67-year-old man multiple times in the chest, head, and stomach, WPIX reported.
The man fell backwards as he attempted to evade the knife, and knocked another customer behind him over, felling the snack display behind him, the video showed.
The surveillance video showed that after the suspect stabbed the customer, he jumped over the fallen display rack and ran around the counter to attack the 67-year-old employee behind it.
The store clerk was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back, WPIX reported.
The video showed the suspect grabbed something from behind the counter and then walked out of the deli as if nothing had happened.
Police said the knife-wielding attacker grabbed $400 in cash out of the register and then fled north on 164th Street, WPIX reported.
Both victims were transported to the hospital where they were treated and released, WABC reported.
Employees told police that the customer who was stabbed was a friend of the employee who was also attacked.
A relative told WABC the customer can’t talk yet because of cuts he sustained to his face.
Police released the surveillance video to the public in an attempt to identify the suspect in the stabbings, WPIX reported.
