VIDEO: Riotous Mob Ransacks Los Angeles McDonald’s After Juneteenth Festivities

Los Angeles, CA – A mob of looters stormed a McDonald’s restaurant on Juneteenth and proceeded to trash the dining area before stealing a cash register and smashing it onto the ground outside the business (video below).

The chaotic scene unfolded at the McDonald’s restaurant located in the 4200-block of Crenshaw Boulevard at approximately 8 p.m. on June 19, KTLA reported.

Cell phone footage showed the violent teens throwing chairs and smashing display cases as workers scrambled out of the dining area and headed towards the kitchen.

The riotous mob grabbed food and threw it around the restaurant as they continued trashing the place.

Workers briefly attempted to hold the screaming crowd back as they converged on the front counter.

At least one teen crawled up onto the counter and stood on top of it before his comrades began kicking and destroying the area containing the cash register, the videos showed.

A participant began cheering maniacally as a suspect finally ripped the cash register out of the counter and ran outside with it.

He proceeded to slam the register onto the pavement, causing it to pop open.

The mob then swarmed the drawer and grabbed up the cash, the video showed.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of shots fired, KTLA reported.

They found the terrified McDonald’s employees huddled in a back room.

Just one suspect – a juvenile – had been taken into custody in connection with the incident as of Tuesday evening, KTTV reported.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s investigation remains ongoing.

“We are deeply concerned by this recent incident,” the restaurant owner, Tony Lardas, told KTLA in a statement. “The safety of employees and customers is my top priority, and we’re focused on supporting our restaurant team as we continue to assist local law enforcement in their investigation.”
