Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia police are searching for four masked gunmen who held up customers and employees during a grocery store heist in the Wynnfield neighborhood last month (video below).
The broad-daylight attack occurred at the Wyndale Grocery store located at 5648 Wyndale Avenue just before 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) said in a critical incident briefing on Feb. 23.
Security footage showed a black Honda Accord pulling up to the store, at which point three armed men jumped out and headed inside.
“While three of the men hold several customers and employees at gunpoint, the fourth male goes behind the deli counter, assaults an employee and steals several thousand dollars in cash,” the PPD said.
Video footage from inside the grocery store showed the gunmen pointing their weapons at shoppers and forcing at least one of them down an aisle.
Another camera captured the moment when the deli worker with his hands raised was kicked in the stomach by his attacker while being held at gunpoint.
The robbers fled the scene in the black Honda Accord and were last seen traveling down Wyndale Avenue, according to the PPD.
One of the witnesses told investigators that all four of the masked suspects spoke Spanish.
No arrests have been made, the PPD said.
Police urged anyone with information about the heist or the suspects to contact the PPD immediately.
“If you see these suspects, do not approach, contact 911 immediately,” the police department added.
