VIDEO: NFL Linebacker And Friends Brawl With Walgreens Employees, Get Arrested

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Titans linebacker Alvin “Bud” Dupree was charged with assault after a fight with employees in a Walgreens in Nashville on Sunday night (video below).

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the incident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 2, a few hours after the Titans badly beat the Miami Dolphins at home, FOX News reported.

Police said there was a verbal altercation between a 20-year-old Walgreens employee and the National Football League (NFL) linebacker after the football player caught the staffer filming him with his cell phone, the New York Post reported.

Dupree reportedly became enraged that he was being filmed and left the store.

But then he returned a short while later with a group of friends, the New York Post reported.

Surveillance videos obtained by TMZ from inside the Walgreens showed that when Dupree returned, the employee was standing at the end of the counter near the entrance.

Dupree had a group of several friends with him who surrounded the employee as the six-foot-four-inch, 269-pound linebacker at first appeared to talk to the Walgreens staffer.

Then Dupree grabbed the employee and tried to take away the man’s cell phone, the video showed.

A brawl ensued as the Walgreens employee tried to defend himself from the football player and his angry friends and other store employees got involved.

Cell phone video of the incident showed the NFL player and at least five of his male and female friends brawling with Walgreens cashiers.

The video showed that at the end of the altercation, Dupree pulled one woman out of the fray and headed toward the exit but then turned back to grab a male friend who had just jumped back into the fight.

Walgreens called 911 but Dupree and his friends had left the scene before police arrived, the New York Post reported.

The police report said the male employee had sustained a cut to his forehead and was bleeding when officers arrived at the store, the Tennessean reported.

A female employee had a gash on her hand from the assault.

Metro Nashville police said Dupree was cited for misdemeanor assault, the New York Post reported.

“Due to the victim being assaulted, the defendant is being charged with assault – fear of bodily injury,” the police department said in a statement.

Police said Dupree and his attorney met with detectives on Tuesday, the New York Post reported.

The NFL linebacker is scheduled to report for booking in three weeks, the Tennessean reported.

The Tennessee Titans said they were aware of the situation and were gathering more information about the incident, according to TMZ.

Dupree signed a five-year, $8.5 million contract with the Titans in March of 2020, the Tennessean reported.

He played the first six years of his NFL career for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
