VIDEO: MMA Fighter Joe Schilling Knocks Out Drunk Guy At Bar

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Mixed Martial Artist fighter Joe Schilling knocked out a 31-year-old civilian at a bar and then posted video of the incident on his own social media account.

In the video, the victim was laughing and talking with other customers and Schilling can be seen approaching from behind.

The victim, identified as Justin Balboa and is a bus boy who works at a different restaurant, had inadvertently bumped into Schilling. Schilling then nonchalantly moved Balboa aside and walked past him.

Schilling was several steps past Balboa and then abruptly turned around, as if he heard something Balboa said to him.
Schilling confronted Balboa who appeared to begin to lean into Schilling. That’s when Schilling unleashed two punches that knocked Schilling to the ground where he laid motionless on his back.

MMA fighter BJ Penn posted on his website that Balboa would seek to prosecute Schilling for the attack.

However, Schilling claimed it was self defense.

The New York Post reported that Schilling released a statement with his account that read: “Little context … this guy’s rapping like an idiot. The busboy, who happens to be black, walks by and this idiot bumps into him and screams out: ‘Me and broke n*****s, we don’t get along.’ The busboy was seriously offended, but doesn’t want to lose his job. As the night goes on, this clown starts looking at me … I go outside to smoke as I’m walking back, he bumps into me. I put my hand out to catch him, he immediately says sorry. You can see me nod my head like cool. The he realises [sic] it’s the guy he’s been rapping at all night (and) yells ‘HEY’. I turn around and he flexes on me … bad decisions are made every day.”

The Miami Herald reported that Balboa called the police.

The police report stated the bar manager said Balboa was “extremely intoxicated” and had possibly said something inappropriate about the girlfriend/wife of Schilling. The manager also said that Balboa was a regular customer who “routinely” causes issues at the bar when he is drunk. The police report stated that many other customers said that Balboa started the altercation.
