Dayton, Ohio – A 44-year-old man is accused of stealing an ambulance with a medic and patient in back, and fleeing from police (video below).
Police released dash-cam video of Jeffrey Brown’s two-mile joyride in a Dayton Fire Department ambulance. Brown was locked up within an hour of stealing the medic unit.
At about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20, medics responded to a call, and the ambulance driver left the keys in the ignition of the vehicle, police told the The Dayton Daily News.
Brown jumped into the ambulance and took off on an apparent joy ride, only to be stopped and arrested by police about two miles down the road.
The video showed about a half-dozen police officers swarming on top of Brown after he was pulled from the ambulance.
“What were you thinking?” one officer asked Brown. “You just kidnapped somebody.”
“You’re going to prison, buddy, I hope you like that,” another officer said.
Brown is now in the Montgomery County Jail, held on multiple charges including kidnapping, abduction, grand theft auto and failure to comply, WKEF/WRGT reported.
