Victorville, CA – A man was recorded by a bystander as he beat a female deputy, stole her gun, and opened fire on her before being shot by backup officers (video below).
The incident started at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 13000 block of Cabazon Court, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The reason for the initial contact has not been released at this time.
The video of the incident begins as the man appears to be repeatedly punching a female San Bernardino deputy in the face.
During the fight, the suspect got on top of the deputy and gained control of her gun.
Multiple gunshots can be heard before the deputy got on her feet and ran away.
The man could be seen shooting at the deputy as she ran towards deputies arriving to back her up.
Other deputies arrived on seen and the suspect was shot in the ensuing gunfight.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital and his condition has not been released at this time.
The deputy was wounded in the fight, but did not sustain any gunshot wounds.
