AndrewBlakeKansas City, MO – A naked man on a stolen ATV led police on a chase that was captured on video on Feb. 25 (video below).
Johnathon Menth, 27, drove the stolen ATV the wrong way on a highway and was arrested at the end of his naked adventure, and transported to the hospital, police said.
Menth was charged with burglary, property damage, and sexual misconduct, according to WDAF-TV.
Bond was set at $50,000, and KSHB-TV reported that one of the conditions of the bond was that Menth but be fully dressed in public.
“The danger level that this person put everyone else in including himself is over-the-top,” said Clay County Sheriff’s Office Captain William Akin.
Police said that first, Menth was accused of stealing a Chrysler PT Cruiser and wrecking it Sunday.
Then Menth then stole a Polaris off-road vehicle from the home of Forrest Bryant, who had been at his mother-in-law’s 88th birthday party.
Bryant called 911 when he noticed his yellow Polaris was missing. Fortunately, officers already knew exactly where his missing ATV could be found.
“I said ‘What’s going on?’ She said, ‘We know where your ATV is. We’re chasing the guy, right now so I expect you’ll be getting it back soon,’” Bryant told KSHB.
Menth led police on a chase through multiple fields, wooded areas, residential streets and sidewalks before making it to the highway, according to WDAF.
The suspect saw police waiting for him when he exited the highway, and the chase ended when struck two railway junction boxes that threw him from the ATV.
ATV-owner Bryant didn’t know that Menth was riding his four-wheeler with no clothes on.
“I don’t know where the guy lost his clothes or where he took them off because they weren’t in the garage or anything,” Bryant said.
Police caught up with Menth after he wrecked the ATV.
“It was just crazy the first thing I asked the policeman is, “Well, is he high on something?’ And he said, ‘Oh yeah he’s definitely high on something,’” Bryant said.
Police said Menth admitted he was under the influence at the time of his naked ride.
