VIDEO: Fur Missile Takes Down Man Who Threw Toddler From Van

A Tulsa police K9 apprehended Tyvon Eugene Mumphrey after he found him hiding in a bathtub.

Tulsa, OK – Police have released bodycam video that showed a Tulsa police K9 pulling a child abuse suspect out of a bathtub where he was hiding (video below).

Tyvon Eugene Mumphrey was wanted for forcing two women out of a van at gunpoint, pistol whipping them, and then throwing a two-year-old child from the van in his car seat, the Daily Mail reported.

Police received a tip that Mumphrey was hiding in a home in the 1800-block of North Madison and went to arrest him on July 11.

Bodycam video showed one of the officers called out to the suspect not to be stupid before they released a police dog to search for him.

The video showed the K9 searching the house.

The dog initially walked past the bathroom a couple of times without detecting the presence of Mumphrey, but on a final sweep of that area, his handler directed the dog to check the bathroom again.

Even then, it took the K9 a moment to catch the scent of Mumphrey, who was squatting in the tub behind the shower curtain, the video showed.

“Check! Bite him! Where is he?” the handler asked the dog who pranced in front of him.

That’s when the dog found Mumphrey.

“Raise your hands,” the dog’s handler screamed at the suspect.

The dog latched onto Mumphrey’s arm and officers instructed him to crawl out of the bathtub, the video showed.

As soon as they had one handcuff on the suspect, the video showed the handler detached the K9 from Mumphrey’s other arm.

“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. I’m okay. Can I explain?” Mumphrey begged as he was taken into custody. “What all happened, it wasn’t me. It wasn’t me.”

It should be noted that the video showed none of the officers had mentioned why they were there.

Later, the K9 handler was asked if he had endangered other officers when his dog missed the suspect on the first sweep of the bathroom, the Daily Mail reported.

“Oh absolutely,” he said. “I know that one of our officers had backed into that room for cover not knowing [Mumphrey] was in the shower.”
