VIDEO: Ex-NFL Player Knocks Out Gate Agent At Newark Airport

Newark, NJ – A former National Football League (NFL) player was arrested in Newark airport on Sunday after he fought with a gate agent and left him bloody (video below).

The incident occurred just after 9:45 a.m. on May 22 at a United Airlines check-in counter at Newark International Airport, WPIX reported.

Former Denver Broncos cornerback Brendan Langley was filmed squaring off with an airline employee, TMZ reported.

A cell phone video posted to social media by a bystander showed Langley in a black hoodie arguing with a United Airlines counter agent who was wearing a uniform vest in the area in front of the check-in counter.

The two men tussled and then Langley slapped the gate agent in the face, the video showed.

The gate agent was knocked off balance and righted himself against the counter before Langley hit him in the head and face at least another five times.

But the gate agent didn’t back down, the video showed.

The gate agent seemed almost to be taunting Langley as he got closer and closer to the man in the hoodie.

Then the man in the vest reached out and slapped Langley in the face, the video showed.

The former NFL player stopped and looked at someone filming with their phone.

“You saw that sh-t?” he asked in the video.

Then Langley punched the man in the vest several times, knocking him off balance.

The video showed the gate agent fell backwards to the ground behind ticket counter.

The gate agent struggled to get back to his feet and wobbled when he did so, the video showed.

There was blood running down his face from a gash on his head.

But that didn’t stop him from going after the passenger who had hit him once again, the video showed.

“You want some more? He wants some more?” Langley screamed as the bleeding man in the vest approached him.

The men stood arguing and a female United Airlines employee intervened, waving the men apart from one another, the video showed.

Then a male employee stepped in between them and separated them as the video ended.

Langley was arrested at the scene, according to WPIX.

He was charged with simple assault, according to TMZ.

United Airlines released a statement that said the man in the vest worked for a subsidiary company that is affiliated with the airline and he was not arrested after the altercation, WPIX reported.

“United Airlines does not tolerate violence of any kind at our airports or onboard our planes and we are working with local authorities to further investigate this matter,” the airline said in a statement.

The airline told TMZ in a statement that the man in the vest had seen been fired.

Langley was a third round NFL draft pick out of Lamar University in 2017, TMZ reported.

He currently plays for the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) Calgary Stampeders.
